Graduate Research Award
Terms
Eligibility: Awards are open to Master’s and Doctoral students.
Value: The winner of the doctoral student grant can receive up to $2000. If inter-continental travel is required (North America to South America, for example), up to $2350 USD might be awarded, at the discretion of the Committee. The winner of the master’s student grant can receive up to $1000.
Deliverables: It is expected that, upon completion, this research will be presented at a NASSH Annual Convention.
Scope: Candidates are eligible for one-time funding. Funds may only be used for research expenses that occur within 18 months following official notification that a NASSH Research Grant has been awarded. Grants may not be used for travel to the NASSH conference, or to buy equipment or software programs. Applications where the student is the sole or primary investigator on the project will be given priority. For collaborative projects, particularly when a graduate student is working with an advisor, the applicant must explain how they (the student) will use and benefit from the funds. In the case of several meritorious applications, preference will be given to projects that emphasize primary source collection on location (archives of interviews).
