NASSH PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT
THIRTY-SIXTH ANNUAL CONVENTION
Lake Placid, New York
May 23-26, 2008
The 36th annual convention of the North American Society for Sport History (NASSH) will be held at the Hilton Lake Placid Resort in Lake Placid, New York, May 23-26, 2008. (Information about accommodations and travel will be sent later.)
The Program Committee encourages all NASSH members and others interested in sport history to think about research presentation possibilities for the convention. Abstracts may be submitted for individual papers (20 minutes) or for complete sessions (95 minutes – typically, but not necessarily, composed of 3 presenters at 20 minutes each, a commentator at 20 minutes, and discussion at 15 minutes). Please note that anyone presenting a paper must be a NASSH member in good standing.
The following guidelines must be followed in preparing proposals for individual papers and sessions. All submissions will be evaluated by the Program Committee (Maureen Smith [Chair], Carly Adams, Russell Field, Steve Gietschier, Jorge Iber, Tara Magdalinski, and Gary Osmond) according to their individual merit, contribution to the field, and potential contribution as components of the total program. Proposals that do not provide all the information requested will be returned to the author(s). The deadline for the submission of proposals is November 15, 2007.
