The Howell Endowment:
The Maxwell and Reet Howell International Endowment Fund was set
up in 1994 to fund international travel, especially for those who are
selected to give NASSH Distinguished Lectures. The fund, despite recent
losses in mutual funds, is worth about $38,000, and is held in the Fidelity
Equity Income II Fund of Fidelity Investments in Boston. This year,
the Endowment Fund will sponsor both the Maxwell and Reet Howell and
the John R. Betts Addresses.
